The Mental Magick of Basil Horwitz - Volume One

The Mental Magick of Basil Horwitz - Volume One is book by successful salesman Basil Horwitz.

He uses his mentalism skills to build up financial business in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The book was written by Martin Breese, illustrated by Eric Mason, first published in 1981. (My edition was published in 2003.)

In the publisher preface Martin Breese tells us the story of Mr. Basil Horwitz and how this book was first recorded on two cassettes which were met with great success.

In the introduction you can find information on Basil’s magic career and business career, written by Basil himself. He also give us his ideas on how to develop successful business based on his own experiences.

The rest of book contains seven mentalism effects or “challenges” most of which employ envelopes.

All the effects are from Basil Horwitz’s very own repertoire and have been used by many magicians with strong results, not only as closers to shows, but also on national television.

I very much like the idea of the book test which is the first effect described in this volume.

This is the first volume in a series of five by the same author.

Book contains black and white drawings, 64 pages, soft bound.
